1. Katyar Kaljat Ghusali
Katyar Kaljat Ghusali is a Marathi musical play (sangeet natak), originally released in 1967. Subodh Bhave’s Katyar Kaljat Ghusali (2015) film was based on the same play. Katyar Kaljat Ghusali is also third highest-grossing Marathi film. Musical play was so popular that more than 1,000 shows were staged within a short period of time. It was written by Purushottam Darvhekar and story depicts the clash of two gharanas (schools) of Indian classical music. 2. Natsamrat
Natsamrat is always the top Marathi drama. The play has ruled Marathi Industry for more than 50 years. It was also made into a Marathi film in which Nana Patekar acting was top-notch. In this drama, the main protagonist was played by Dr. Shreeram Lagoo The play shows how a seasoned actor spends the last days of his life reminiscing about his glory days as a celebrated theater performer. Savita Damodar Paranjape is an psychological thriller play. It was also made into a movie (2018) which is still one of the best horror Marathi movie. A professor’s wife displays sudden strange behavior. During these outbursts, she calls herself Savita Damodar Paranjpe. This play is a very unique one among others in this list do check it out.
4. Shrimant Damodar Pant
Shrimant Damodar Pant is an hilarious play which you must watch. An exceptional play with Bharat Jadhav in mail role describing the human relationships in a strange manner. Shrimant Damodar Pant will make you laugh very much. The comic timing, characters and storyline is just amazing.
5. Chal Kahitarich Kay
Chal Kahitarich Kay is another comic natak whoch you shouldn’t miss. Chal Kahitarich Kay features ‘Prashant Damle’ in his full comic form. Story is written by Suresh Jairam and stars Prashant Damle, Pradeep Patvardhan, Neelam Shirke, Maithili Warang and Satish Salagre. Chal Kahitarich Kay is a must watch to have entertainment and fun.
